Thanks for the birthday present! It was so wonderful! I had two seats to myself with a dining car behind and a snack bar 3 cars up. I got a cheese plate and spinach salad to eat. I was really grateful for some semblance to real food. There was an ogre-looking boy sitting across the aisle from me. I really liked him because his face was kind and gentle even though he had some quasimoto- metallica- anarchy thing going on. In fact, those things made him even better. I considered asking him to be my friend... like a second James... but then I remembered I have to be careful about these things. It'd be nice to not have to be.
Illinois to Indiana to Albany to Rochester to Buffalo to Poughkeepsie to Harmon, 3 smoking breaks and passing in and out of consciousness. The bathrooms became increasingly more disgusting. By the end, the toilets were a standing repository for human waste because the flush buttons stopped working. Haha, thank goodness for the safety of my seats. I slept a lot and didn't do any of the things on my list.
At one point, I thought about you in a Puerto Rican airport without the Puerto Ricans... more like picturing you sprawled out with your laptop on several seats getting ready for school. Anyway, I miss you baby! :) Suydam without you isn't quite Suydam and a year should pass by quickly.
Love,
Mary
