“your country is so beautiful,” your
faces so refined in innocence.
rape me before the sloping hills
lie in mocking smiles.
she cringes beneath his thrusts,
flounders toward soldiers
slung artillery over their shoulders.

It happens fortuitously and quite irritatingly that each time a crisis falls upon my material, earthly situation- an intangible blessing immediately accompanies afterwards. June 15- 24th, 2007 are an additional nine days of rote infamy that shall join the shelves of « college experiences ». Chau came from Montreal, I moved into a Sunset Park co-op, was evicted by a family member, painted and moved out of the Manhattan apt, moved into Bensonhurst again, received the arrival of New Zealand family members and finally separated from Rebecca. Might I add, I’ve also determined hypothetically an educational pathway which in the recesses of my fingertips seems tentative : merely adding to the layers of pathways I’ve mentally labored over- that are getting nowhere close to being accomplished. The only expertise I can claim is in dreaming and aiming for despairingly lofty goals.

Another orange-crimson evening guided by a stolen bottle of sake from the raccoon with blinking red eyes, old wine and dirt weed. Without substances, we would not laugh with open mouths, hug with eager arms or listen with empathy. Young faces and bald heads conspire in my mouse-infested apartment. The door buzzes and anticipating, malicious eyes await the mystery guest.

How about a big hand now? For Art Blakey!

I was lucky enough in the midst of housing chaos to sneak in Television's last show at Central Park Summerstage and finally hear Little Johnny Jewel and Marquee Moon live. Tom Verlaine is still sexy despite being nearly shriveled. They ended the show with a bang and extended Marquee Moon another 5-10 minutes with jazzy riffs and triumphant solos to the dismay of the concert coordinator who started screaming at the end. It was the best concert I've been to for a while regardless.
And of course, Apples in Stereo and Dragonz in Synth or whatever the hell couldn't compare. Also, Richard Lloyd wasn't there and they didn't play See No Evil but hey Television isn't even my generation- I have no previous shows to compare the performance to.
